Abstract We establish the existence and uniqueness of global (in time) positive strong solutions for a generalized population dynamics equation with environmental noise, while fails deterministic equation. Particularly, we prove following stochastic differential d X t = ( θ m 0 + k ) e 1 2 φ W , > ⩾ x ∈ R being constants r ϑ or | log also show that index is sharp in sense if one can choose certain proper such solution will explode finite time almost surely.

Visibility of the environmental noise modulating population dynamics.
Characterizing population fluctuations and their causes is a major theme in population ecology. The debate is on the relative merits of density-dependent and density-independent effects. One paradigm (revived by the research on global warming and its relation to long-term population data) states that fluctuations in population densities can often be accounted for by external noise. Several empi...
متن کامل9 Environmental Noise Variability in Population Dynamics Matrix Models Michel
The impact of environmental variability on population size growth rate in dynamic models is a recurrent issue in the theoretical ecology literature. In the scalar case, R. Lande pointed out that results are ambiguous depending on whether the noise is added at arithmetic or logarithmic scale, while the matrix case has been investigated by S. Tuljapurkar. Our contribution consists first in introd...

7 Population systems are often subject to environmental noise, and our aim is to show that (surprisingly) the presence of even a tiny amount can suppress a potential population explosion. 9 To prove this intrinsically interesting result, we stochastically perturb the multivariate deterministic system ẋ(t)=f(x(t)) into the Itô form dx(t)=f(x(t)) dt + g(x(t)) dw(t), and show that 11 although the ...
متن کاملImpact of environmental colored noise in single-species population dynamics.
Variability on external conditions has important consequences for the dynamics and the organization of biological systems. In many cases, the characteristic timescale of environmental changes as well as their correlations play a fundamental role in the way living systems adapt and respond to it. A proper mathematical approach to understand population dynamics, thus, requires approaches more ref...
متن کاملSpecies coexistence in a neutral dynamics with environmental noise.
Environmental fluctuations have important consequences in the organization of ecological communities, and understanding how such a variability influences the biodiversity of an ecosystem is a major question in ecology. In this paper, we analyze the case of two species competing for the resources within the framework of the neutral theory in the presence of environmental noise, devoting special ...
